Daniel K. Haddad, MD

Daniel K. Haddad, MD, PharmD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper-extremity surgery. He treats patients of all ages with conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.

A New Jersey native, Dr. Haddad earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Rutgers University, graduating summa cum laude. He then completed medical school and orthopedic surgery residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he served as Chief Resident. During residency, he served as an assistant team physician for Rutgers University football as well as local high schools. He subsequently completed fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), receiving advanced training in conditions spanning the shoulder to the fingertips, including shoulder reconstruction and arthroplasty, alongside internationally recognized leaders in shoulder and upper-extremity surgery.

The hands are essential for work, caring for loved ones, sports, hobbies, and independence. Dr. Haddad takes the time to understand how each patient’s condition affects their life and what they hope to return to. His background in medicine and pharmacy, along with research in postoperative opioid prescribing and pain control, has shaped his interest in multimodal, opioid-sparing surgical care. He individualizes treatment to each patient’s needs and goals and approaches every decision with the same care he would want for his own family.

Dr. Haddad has been recognized as an American Orthopedic Association Emerging Leader and Rutgers Rising Star Scholar. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is board-eligible with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. After fellowship, he returned to New Jersey with his family to serve the communities of his home state.
