Certified Medical Assistant

Large multi-specialty Orthopedic practice focused on quality patient care seeks an experienced Certified Medial Assistant to become part of a team striving for excellence. This is a full time clinical position with travel between offices in Warren, Sussex, and Morris Counties.May include some Front Desk duties.Some evening and Saturday rotation may be necessary.

POSITION TITLE: Certified Medical Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY: On a daily basis, assists physicians in the office, bringing patients from the reception area to the exam room, preparing patient for examination, assisting physician with procedures. Clinical documentation in electronic medical record, electronic order entry of; medication, labs, radiology, and therapy. Assist with telephone calls from patients, and stocking/cleaning exam rooms.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION:

Formalized Medical Assistant training/certification required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patients.
Orthopedic experience preferred.
Prior medical assistance work experience preferred.
Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate and relate well with all staff and patients.
Must be able to follow direction well from physicians and managers.
Ability to follow established office routines and policies.
Ability to cross-train for other positions desirable.

Surgery Scheduler

Details for job position:

The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey is seeking a full-time Surgical Scheduler position for our Sparta surgical scheduling team and to join a successful practice providing complete musculoskeletal care to Warren, Sussex, Morris and Union county in New Jersey.

The Surgical Scheduler will effectively schedule surgical procedures for multiple doctors at two locations for a busy orthopedic practice The ideal candidate will have at least one (1) year of surgical scheduler experience in the medical field. Prior medical assistant experience is extremely helpful.

We are looking for a personable, enthusiastic and qualified clinician to join our practice.

Job Description:

Coordinates required testing prior to admission and ensures all information and consents are on site for patient’s admission/procedure.
Schedules ambulatory admissions.
Contacts insurance companies to obtain eligibility and pre-certifications for surgical procedures.
Provides pre-operative instructions to patients.
Maintains the database to ensure all pre-surgical forms, medical clearance documents, patient radiological exams, and laboratory work is completed in a timely manner within the guidelines of OR scheduling.
Maintains scheduling system. Screens scheduling requests for approved procedures at the ASC.
Arranges for specialty equipment/ services.
Updates and maintains blocked time templates.
Communicates problems to Nurse/Physician/Clinical Coordinator


Requirements:

High School Graduate or GED required. Diploma from a vocational, technical school or college degree preferred.
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing required.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to organize workload and prioritize.
