The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey Conducts 10th Annual Trainers Conference

SPARTA, NJ – The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey conducted its 10th Annual Athletic Trainers Conference on May 16th at the Mohawk Lake Country Club in Sparta, NJ. 70 top athletic trainers, athletic directors and doctors from throughout New Jersey attended the event. The focus of this year’s conference was “Concussion Management”. Chris Peduzzi, Head Athletic Trainer of the Philadelphia Eagles was the featured guest speaker. After spending 14 seasons with the Eagle training staff, Peduzzi was named the team’s Head Athletic Trainer during the 2013 offseason. The Eagle training staff has been widely recognized as one of the finest training staffs in professional sports. Mr. Peduzzi’s talk this year focused on a Systematic Approach to Concussion Management. Chris took the audience through the evaluation process when a possible concussion occurs, treating the athlete and then taking the best steps to decide when that athlete should return to competition. Dr. Robert DeFalco of The Orthopedic Institute of NJ served as the evening’s moderator. A lively question and answer period followed Mr. Peduzzi’s talk.
