The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey (OINJ) recently held its annual Emergency Action Plan (EAP) meeting from August 6-8, 2024. This event brought together OINJ physicians, local athletic trainers, and healthcare professionals for a collaborative training session focused on enhancing safety in high school football.

The 2024 meeting emphasized hands-on practice, where participants engaged in spine-boarding, equipment removal, and managing various injury scenarios, including those involving non-responsive athletes. These practical exercises were complemented by in-depth discussions on critical topics such as joint dislocations, concussions, and abdominal injuries.

This collaborative effort is part of OINJ's ongoing commitment to ensuring that our team is well-prepared to handle on-field emergencies. By working closely with local athletic trainers and healthcare professionals, OINJ continues to provide the highest level of care for student-athletes, helping to safeguard their health and well-being during sports activities.

As with previous years, the 2024 EAP meeting was a resounding success, reinforcing the importance of preparedness and teamwork in the face of athletic injuries. OINJ remains dedicated to setting the standard for emergency response in high school sports, ensuring that our community's student-athletes receive the best possible care in any situation.
