The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey is pleased to announce that our physicians are now participating Tier 1 providers for all orthopedic specialties in the new OMNIA Health Plans offered by the OMNIA Health Alliance. The OMINA Health Alliance is comprised of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (BCBSNJ) –the oldest and largest insurance provider in the state— and eight major health care organizations. The formation of the Alliance is in response to the continuously rising cost of healthcare in New Jersey. As a result, the Alliance is committed to transforming the healthcare system as a whole. The transformation is focused on providing a higher quality of care at a lower cost to consumers. This is in comparison to the current system where physicians are rewarded for quantity of care provided (through the amount of tests/treatments performed) over quality. In addition, there are more options for patients with a Tier 1 plan to choose from with 24,000 participating physicians/healthcare providers and 34 hospitals available. The selection of participating Tier 1 providers is based upon the following:
The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey is excited to have met these qualifications and be a part of this new venture. We are looking forward to changing the way healthcare works in the Garden State.
